drew | nine days new

First, I just want to share the sweetness that is my new nephew.  He's already nearing his first month birthday and yet it seems not so long ago he was still safely snuggled in his momma's belly.  Goodness, he's cute!

So it's November and I did a "thirty days of thanks" a couple of years ago and have decided to resurrect it again this year because I truly do have so much to be thankful for this year.  Well wait, last year was really great too!  Anyway, today on this first day of November I'm feeling especially thankful for my family.  For the ones I love, old and new and yet to come. Maybe it's partly the hormones or the fact that I'm far away, but dang.  I surely do appreciate each of them!!!

amazing grace | one month new

What a sweet, sweet baby girl.  I met Miss Grace and her parents about four weeks into her first month and she is such a precious baby!

wyatt has arrived

Remember this beautiful couple?!  Their sweet boy has finally arrived...well, about a month ago really. :) 

Cassidy & Jeff, thanks so much for letting me photograph Wyatt at this age.  It's been a joy to watch your family grow and I hope the three of you enjoy this first Christmas!!

I recently got to spend a Sunday afternoon with this sweet baby girl.  I'm so glad I got to photograph her parents when she still waiting patiently for the right time.  And now she's here, at ten days new and so perfect. 

Jessica and Rob, thanks so much for letting me photograph your sweet girl.  Audri is beautiful and I know you both are enjoying these early days!

an added joy

I couldn't agree more, and I'm willing to bet this sweet girl's parents feel the same.  For all of the life changes and sleepless nights a new little one brings, there is also joy in each new day.  Counting ten perfect little toes, cuddles during frequent feedings, staring at this new life and knowing she's got the best part of each of you. Oh yes, there is joy to be found in those moments.

 

 

I'm so thankful I got to spend time with this beautiful baby girl on her one week birthday. And I'm thankful her parents were close by to lend a helping hand and a couple of baby snuggles.

18 days of baby boy bliss

I'll be honest, I'm always hesitant to schedule a newborn session when the baby is over two weeks old.  By that time babies are typically awake for longer periods and though still incredibly sweet to photograph, aren't quite as easy to work with.  And by work with, I mean bend and move. :)

All of that to say that this sweet boy slept so soundly, I was almost giddy.  His gorgeous momma was on hand to help soothe him and always had his pacifier at the ready.  I love helpful parents, they really make things easy!

Loved these pictures of him cradled in his daddy's arms.  So sweet!

seven days sweet

Over the weekend I had the opportunity to photograph a sweet new baby girl on her seventh day in this world. She was so tiny and had the blondest hair I've ever seen on a newborn! She was accompanied by her parents and her adorable big sister.
