I took Avery to see the "Mobile Dairy Classroom" presented as part of the summer reading program at our local library this morning.
Our view was...excellent.
So we didn't exactly get up close and personal with the cow, but we did learn some interesting facts about dairy cows and the milk process. For example, on a dairy farm a cow only needs to have four teats. So if a cow has five, a common occurrence, then the extra one is usually removed. Um, ouch! Also, our three local bottling companies are Oak Farms, HEB, and Borden's.
I found myself totally sympathizing with the cow and wanting them to hurry up and hook up the machine as she was really engorged! I think Avery was indifferent to the teat issues.
